Getting Fans Back to Bill Snyder Family Stadium

The 2020 Wildcat football season saw an attendance low that was unprecedented in recent decades; in December of 2020, the number of in-stadium fans even dropped below 10,000. The diminished numbers were due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent crowd restrictions impacting events of all kinds.
All this set the stage though, for a major comeback in 2021. The first home game of the season more than doubled the number of fans from the previous season. Then, just a week later nearly 20,000 more fans packed into Bill Snyder Family Stadium to cheer on the 'Cats. For the regular season, average home game attendance hovered just below 45,000 -- compared to 2020's average of right above 10,900 fans per home game.
2021 statistics approach pre-pandemic levels, but do not quite reach average fan attendance from 2019, when the number of home game fans averaged just over 49,000.
